Handicap Shower Seat
Handicap shower seats come in many different varieties and styles. Some are made out of heavy duty plastic
others are made out of teak and others have metal parts. It all depends on what you like and what you're
comfortable with and what you can afford as to which style that you would like. They'll have their benefits and
everybody has their own preference.
In my search for a quality handicap shower seat, I came across one website in particular that caught my
attention. It is called allegro medical. They have a variety of different shower seats available for purchase all
in styles that most people can afford and like. Several of these chairs have the capacity to hold as much as 500
pounds which is really great for somebody who has an obesity problem.
They have two wooden bath seats that are very nice. They are almost identical in shape , the only difference is
the wood that they are made from. One is made from teak and the otheris made from bamboo. Obviously the teak
handicap shower seat is a little more expensive than the bamboo, but that is to be expected as it has a lot more to
offer in the area of mold and mildew resistance, longevity, and water resistance.
They also have plastic seats that have backs on the for added security and comfort. These ar quite a lot less
expensive than their wooded counterpart and like I said before it all depends on your preferences. Personally I
would rather have the feel of wood on my backside than cold plastic.
All in all, if I were looking for a medical bath seat than this would be my first and probably only stop. On the
other hand though, Amazon.com has some very good deals on the seats as well. In fact I think that they offer just
as much variety as allegro does. They also have the different styles of teak and bamboo chairs for comparable
prices as well as plastic models that would fit your needs nicely as well.
There is one that I've noticed that although it is not made out of teak, but plastic, is a pretty nice seat. It
has a curvature formed into it which seems like it would act as a safety measure to keep you from sliding off, and
it also has a couple of handfuls on the side for when you go to sit on it you have something to hold onto. It only
retails for around $40 which is rather cheap for something that's going to provide you comfort and stability in the
shower. Some of the features that it includes are for aluminum legs that have rubber foot pads on the bottom of
them, that are angled slightly outward to provide a little bit of extra stability. It also has convenient drainage
holes in the seat so water doesn't build up.
Another one that I'm looking at, is an aluminum folding model that right now is for sale on Amazon for $34 with
the normal price of hundred dollars. It has a back on it and it has adjustable legs which makes it very convenient
if you have a hard time squatting down low to seat that is a standard height. It fits most of the standard bathtubs
and has a 250 pound capacity which might be a little light for some people.
There are many other different makes and models of handicap shower seats on the market and there are a plethora
of different places in which you can buy them. I named off a couple and if you are really looking for a great deal,
I believe that Amazon is probably one of the best places to shop. Sometimes you can catch sales on their that are
like 70 and 80% off of what you pay anywhere else. Be a smart shopper and look around and get exactly what you
need.
